Hi, friends!

This morning I was awoken at 6 am (ugh) by my charming fiance with the happiest of news: our engagement session was live on our photographer’s blog! Our photog, Mr. Sam Hassas, did our engagement session after we had attended the amazing Genesis workshop where we wandered around Durham with the king of cool Sam and an awesome sidekick, Mr. Tony Hoffer

I was so stoked with the images….I have to share a few teasers, and then the rest you must run, not walk, to Sam’s blog to enjoy

This was the image I awoke to:

We spent some time in this amazing bed & breakfast taking pics, and I just love this one:

Hi Laura: I started at Meg, went to Filene’s Basement, Sacco Shoes, Anthropologie, Macy’s, Banana Republic, Esprit,Lee Lee’s Valise, Lord & Taylor, DSW, and Intimacy. I may be forgetting one… I am planning a blog post for next week where I’ll be sure to detail all the shopping experiences, etc. :) Thanks for your kind words!

First of all congratulations on your engagement! I just saw you on What Not to Wear and just want to say that you inspired me to love me for me! I of course cried when he proposed how sweet was that?!? And the ring is gorgeous! So glad I found your blog. Anyway your e-pics are super fantastic and you look AMAZING!!!!!

  9. Josie Lowery

I love these! They’re so hawt!

Amazingly, the TV Gods have decided to air both of our TV debuts the same week! How crazy is that?

Brocade participated in the Nashville Build of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in the efforts to rebuild the Nashville Lighthouse Christian School. We provided the floral embellishments (hopefully) seen at the big reveal. So many sweet and dedicated Nashvillian’s devoted their time and talent in this fantastic rebuild– so be sure to tune in! The episode airs this Sunday, November 14, at 7 pm. WKRN (Channel 2) is going to do a special behind the scenes the hour before. Details can be found at the Nashville Build website and the Extreme Makeover site.

And since we’re really into Makeovers, you can see me, Hillary– on TLC’s What Not to Wear on Friday, November 19 at 9 pm. I will be posting more details about this experience through the week next week, but I wanted to go ahead and remind you to mark your calendars. I am so honored to have been nominated by a horde of friends and colleagues that felt an intervention was seriously needed to reform my lack of style. And believe me, friends, it was rough. I used to only dress in the color brown (no joke) and a variety of hand-me-down sweaters and other clothes. You can check out my awfulness by watching this video. While I don’t want to spoil the episode, the majority of my lack of inspired style stemmed from my low self-esteem and lack of self confidence. Stacy and Clinton really changed the way I felt not only about myself, but the way I approach clothing and style in general– as a form of self expression. I am so endlessly thankful for this experience, and I am beyond excited to share it with you!

  1. Sarah Addison

Yay Hillary! You’re so famous now- can we still be friends?

  2. Em Humphries

Yay for a week of celebrating Hillary!! (And Don too!!!) You guys deserve it ;)

  3. Northern Virginia Additions

First off attractive website. I’m uncertain if it has been talked about, when using Firefox I can never get the complete blog to load without refreshing repeatedly. May well just be my modem. Enjoy!

  4. Anna Patricia

I just watched your episode, I had to search for your floral website! It was AMAZING to see you bloom! More power to you Hillary!

  5. sophie

I’m watching the show… I already thought you were pretty at the beginning of the program: you have such a warm personnality, the sweetest, gentlest voice! You have GORGEOUS legs! Lovely eyes! Look at that smile! And that beautiful, firm, flawless skin! Just like the makeup lady said: they just enhanced who you already were :-)

The haircut makes you look even younger, actually – in a good way. You shine just like that bling on your finger – I wish you all the happiness, success, and love you deserve!!!

  6. Brandi Ugboaja

Hi Hillary. Just saw the What Not to Wear episode and I was like I know her. She was the florist for my wedding (08/08/09). You are an awesome floral designer and I wish you continued success. Love your new look! Congrats on your engagement and your ring is beautiful!!!

  7. Amy

Wonderful episode of WNTW, Hillary! What a wonderful transformation to show on the outside with you had on the inside. Congratulations on your engagement!!!

  8. Cat Lorenzo

you look FABULOUS Hillary!! I enjoyed this episode of What Not To Wear!

first… it was wonderful that it was someone from our amazing city of Nashville – and second – you deserve this – I don’t know you – but what I saw is a sweet, gently, sensitive, down to earth woman – obviously beautiful inside and out! I wish you the best – with your up and coming wedding and your floral business – I will have to stop in, one of these days!

    be blessed!

    Ciao Bella!

  9. Sadie

My children and I just watched your episode of WNTW and I had to hunt you down to tell you how beautiful we all thought you are! Many congratulations on your engagement – my 10 y/o daughter kept saying all through the episode “I bet he’s going to propose NOW!” and she darn near bounced right off the couch when he got down on his knee.

  10. Maryanne Dersch

Hillary, what a fabulous makeover! When you put the first dress on I was yelling at the TV, “Buy that dress!” So glad you go so much out of the experience. I really loved your transformation and how much you embraced the experience. It is obvious you are so loved.

One quick question…that dress, the one you wore to your party…where did you get it or what label is it? Thanks so much!

  11. admin

Thanks Maryanne! The dress was from Meg. Link on today’s blog post :D
