I have to admit, I’m a total Christmas lover. I don’t really have a time that I don’t want to listen to Christmas music, and I love marking the day after Thanksgiving as the official start of the holiday season. In homage of this special season, I wanted to share a few of my favorite Christmas things with you, and hope you’ll share yours, too.

Favorite Christmas Movie: White Christmas

The music. The dancing. Bing Crosby. What can I say? I try to make it a point to watch this movie every holiday season. One of my favorite Christmas memories is the year that my sister and I put on a production of “Sisters, Sisters” in our living room (complete with blue dresses)

Favorite Christmas Song: Still, Still, Still
This is a hard one, because honestly I have a ton of favorite songs, but this one is always the one that makes me get all teary eyed and nostalgic. Probably because I’ve spent the majority of my Christmases in Nashville, where it hardly ever snows (maybe this year!)
My Favorite Version is the Mannheim Steamroller one, watch it on You Tube here

Favorite Christmas Treat: Classic Christmas Cookies

I love a classic shortbread-style Christmas cookie, iced and beautifully decorated. There’s something magical about having a Christmas Cookie that is almost TOO pretty to eat.

No matter what your favorite tradition, I hope this season brings you endless blessings and happy times spent with family and friends. There’s rumor we may get snow here in Nashville, so believe me, my eyes will be peeled for a little magical Christmas cheer. Have some Egg Nog, gather ’round the fire, and may Santa Claus come and bring you all the gifts you dreamed of. Oh, and that reminds me… Another Favorite: Tracking Santa’s Progress on Norad’s Santa Tracker: When I was a kid, I remember keeping my eyes glued to the evening news right before bedtime to see where Santa was (and how close he was getting to MY house.) How cool is it that kids today get to track Santa starting as soon as they wake up and with the benefit of the internet, Norad, and Google Earth. Keep him on your radar: Norad Tracks Santa

Above all else, keep the magic and beauty of this season alive in your heart and your actions, give love, give cheer, share joy.

Merry Christmas!!

You’re make me all nostalgic… I sometimes wish to rewind to my childhood holidays (and infamous traditions like cold shirmp on Christmas Eve followed by Dad’s annual Christmas light tour… imagine my family of five cramming into our tiny Toyota Corolla Station Wagon). I had plenty of snow for Christmas and would have gladly shared ;)

Thanks so much and Merry Christmas!

A continuation from the introductory post about Tami & Brent: the sweetest!

Woodmont Christian was the setting for Tami’s wedding. The day dawned with crazy blue skies, green grass, and an amazing breeze– it was the perfect day to get married, if you ask me, and I couldn’t have been happier for this very wonderful bride and groom.

For the front doors: babies’ breath wreaths. Now, before you crinkle your nose at babies breath, know that this flower is a lot like a carnation: when bunched, it’s beautiful:

We added a bit of trailing ribbon and the breeze picked up the ends beautifully.

Simple, classic roses with curly willow graced the front entrance tables:

Her pew markers: fresh and lovely Bells of Ireland and white dendrobium orchids, accented with curly willow and ribbon:

The altar arrangement: a very tall cylinder vase with curly willow, bells of ireland, roses, hydrangea, and football mums were paired with salal and dendrobium orchids for a fresh and lovely arrangement:

A side view:

Along the base of the arrangement, we embellished with various pillar candles accented with twine, leaves, and babies’ breath:

The ceremony:

Afterwards, they grabbed some shots around the grounds:

And then rushed off to the reception:
