I am pretty sure I just used “wonderfulness” inappropriately, but I can’t help it, I’m just so excited!

A few weeks ago, we were approached to participate in Nashville’s Extreme Home Makeover build– providing flowers for their VIP tent and for the finished build project. Of course, we enthusiastically said YES! and are so excited to be a part of this amazing charitable contribution and team. Learn all about the build — an amazing project to rebuild the Nashville Lighthouse Christian School destroyed in the Nashville Floods. Our involvement begins this weekend and wraps up next week!

The design team is still looking for volunteers to donate their time and talent. For this and other details, check out the News 2 WKRN website

For the first part of the week (while they’re building the Extreme Home Makeover project) I’m going to North Carolina to participate in a workshop with my fiance, Donald Yeager. Don’s an amazing wedding photographer, and when I am not working on one of my weddings, I often second shoot with him– I love any opportunity to be creative– and this workshop is one that will most certainly enhance my skills as a photographer, so I’m super excited about that, too. I feel so incredibly lucky because I not only have an awesome fiance that I adore, but I’m also blessed in that when he doesn’t have a wedding, he helps me. It’s an incredible partnership and we’re lucky that we understand each side of the other’s job– and since we both focus on making our brides happy, I couldn’t ask for a better team member!

Wile we are there, we are going to be taking our engagement photos in North Carolina! I hope there will be cooler weather and a bit of fall in the air while we’re doing our e-shoot, and I am so stoked to post pictures as soon as we get them!

When we come back, it will be the big reveal day for the Makeover, so we can’t wait to see all the details and culmination of this incredible project!

Please note that the studio will be CLOSED beginning Friday at 1:30pm. We will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, September 21.

YAY!! I can’t wait to see your e-pics and how cool about extreme make-over?? That is awesome!!

I met Yael and Evan the September before their April wedding. Yael’s in internal medicine, and her sweet husband works in downtown Nashville. I immediately loved their great energy and love for one another, and once we started talking about their vision for a purple, white, and stem green celebration I was so excited to come up with some designs for them.

The inspiration board for this elegant and romantic– yet contemporary– wedding:

Yael envisioned carrying a beautiful, full, textured white bouquet. She loved the look of white Phalaenopsis with other white flowers, and I think the end result was nothing short of stunning.

The handle was finished with double faced satin in ivory and studded with green pearl pins:

The groom’s coordinated boutonniere:

The bride was a vision in white— I love this image:

The bridesmaids carried a bouquet of rich purple hydrangea accented with green cymbidium orchids:

And to coordinate– the groomsmen’s buttonholes were composed of a purple mini calla accented with varigated lily grass and white dendrobium orchids:

The bridal party:

The couple wed at Congregation Micah beneath a chuppa we decorated with draped white organza and embellished with flowers in ivories and cream:

In each of the windows behind the chuppa, we designed coordinating tall vases in white and ivory:

Stay tuned for part II of their beautiful wedding celebration!
