It’s New Year’s Eve, one of my favorite holidays! I love the celebration of a year gone by and the prospect of the new year to come. There’s something magical about that, and I’m excited to start a New Year! This year has been so amazing, so incredible, so awesome that I really can’t see how 2011 will top it…but with lots of fantastic events in the pipeline and my wedding this June, I know the best is yet to come!

First, a few of my favorite memories from 2010:

It was a crazy, wonderful year in the personal department. I started out looking like this:

(Yeah, Ya’ll, I have no idea what was going on in my head…) and then my friends, family, and colleagues pulled together and nominated me to be on

What Not To Wear : and In April, I was ambushed…

and my reveal…

…& engagement…

But enough about me! It was a year for beautiful weddings with gorgeous brides, starting with Ashley + Trey’s purple, white and green wedding in January:

to the classically beautiful and modern bride Yael

Sara and Chris’s Country Music Hall of Fame soiree in yellow and green

And Maggie & Chip’s Belle Meade Plantation Wedding

And beautiful bride Tami & her handsome Beau, Brent’s, gorgeous day…

We were lucky enough to be featured twice on Style Me Pretty, a rustic farm wedding

And Carli & Spence’s Carnival of Love themed Reception

And so much more that’s yet to be shared and blogged. I have some really cool and exciting things to share with you in the New Year, but I had to offer a little teaser or two about what is to come….

2011 will bring a new  informative, illustrative, and transformational series on event decor, starting with event Lighting. We’re going to go in depth with several aspects of event design! I’m totally stoked about this series and I can’t wait to share it!

My biggest New Year’s resolution: Blogging! I have so many weddings and events in the queue that you’re going to love them. Pink weddings, glam weddings, weddings featured on Style Me Pretty…I have 30 events to blog in the backlogs and it’s my goal to have all of those live by the end of June! I have to make room for our 2011 events, right? So be sure to bookmark us and come back regularly to check out the awesome, including full posts on both of our SMP features.

A new year, a new look….I’ve been working on a revamped Brocade and let me tell you, the road has been long, hard, and pretty dusty, but I feel like I’m coming to the close….and I can’t wait to share with you all of the goodies.

Until the New Year…

In our previous posts, we covered the personal flowers & wedding, now it’s time for the reception goodness! As I mentioned before, Tami and Brent had to move their wedding venue from one location to another the week of the wedding. The new location ended up being the Cannery Ballroom– one of my personal favorite venues. I think this space blended perfectly with Tami’s vision. We made a few changes to her lighting plan– Nashville Event Lighting proved amazing as always for this event, planner Mary Alice and her team from A Delightful Day really shined, and before you knew it, we had a beautiful wedding reception.

The Cannery Ballroom: the setting for the scene– with it’s rustic wood beams, brick walls, and spacious layout, this is a fabulous place to host a wedding reception.

Guests entered and found their seating assignment– love this display made by bride Tami:

We created a focal point table for the cocktail hour near the name card display:

Curly willow with orchid blossoms

Once inside the ballroom, guests found their tables by discovering these lovely wine bottles with table numbers–such a great idea from Tami:

I loved that Tami loves details, and so we took her great theme and carried it on. Mason jars with orchid blossoms and twine were one of those ways :

and candles in each window:

We did a few different sets of centerpieces. Tulips and hydrangea made one of the pairs:

And another was tulips, white stock, bells of ireland, buplerum and curly willow:

I love how soft, romantic, and elegant the centerpieces were, while still embracing a natural, rustic feeling:

Each table featured menu cards in the style of Tami’s invitations:

We did some awesome tall centerpieces to add height and depth to the room:

The tops of the tall centerpieces held hydrangea, roses, bells of ireland, stock, orchids, and more in a beautiful, lush arrangement:

Hanging candles off the tall centerpieces:

Hanging Lanterns graced the dance floor:

The Cake table:

A late night snack of Krispy Kreme’s proved a total hit:

And gave more energy for dancing and a kiss on the dance floor…

The couple escaped into the night with a sparkler exit:

Every congratulation to this sweet, timeless couple!
